Our Projects

At One Help One Direction Ihumure, we design our programs with a deep commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring that each initiative is purposefully aligned with global objectives to create a more inclusive, sustainable, and equitable society.

Vocational training provides marginalized youth, particularly women, with the skills needed to enter the workforce and achieve economic independence, directly supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality). Through our green skills initiatives, including waste , upcycle and recycle management programs, we are preparing the next generation of environmental stewards and job creators, while promoting SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).

Our commitment to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) is reflected in the success stories of over 10 youth and women who have gained employment, launched businesses, or contributed to their communities through the skills and knowledge they’ve gained from our programs.

By integrating the SDGs into every aspect of our work, we are not only empowering individuals to overcome socio-economic barriers, but we are also creating long-lasting social, economic, and environmental impact that fosters positive change for future generations.

CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS SESSIONS: SMILE SUNDAY PROGRAM

We facilitate art therapy sessions, storytelling, and mindful exercises to encourage creative expression, emotional processing, and self-awareness among youth. These activities provide a safe space for young people to explore their emotions, express themselves creatively, and develop a deeper understanding of their thoughts and feelings. By integrating art, storytelling, and mindfulness, OHODI helps youth build emotional resilience and enhance their mental well-being, fostering personal growth and a stronger sense of self

EDUCATIONAL EMPOWERMENT AND ENRICHMENT: ACADEMIC SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

We identify and support financially disadvantaged youth by covering school fees, providing educational materials, and facilitating access to quality primary and secondary education. By addressing the financial barriers that many young people face, OHODI ensures they have the opportunity to succeed academically and thrive in their educational journey. The organization aims to level the playing field, giving every youth the tools they need to excel, regardless of their financial background. Through these efforts, OHODI is empowering the next generation with the knowledge and skills necessary to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

FUTURE LEADERS PROGRAM

We have designed specialized green workshops, mentorship programs, and skill-building sessions to empower marginalized youth with leadership skills, critical thinking abilities, and vocational training essential for their future. Through these green-focused initiatives, the program equips young people with valuable skills in environmental conservation, sustainable practices, and resource protection—tools that are critical to their personal and professional growth. By focusing on green skills, we help marginalized youth not only prosper in the workforce but also become active contributors to sustainable community development. This holistic approach fosters well-rounded future leaders who are prepared to make meaningful impacts on their communities and the environment

EMOTIONAL RESILIENCE AND MENTAL WELL-BEING PROMOTION: KUGANIRA MENTAL HEALTH WORKSHOP

We organize regular workshops and seminars focused on mental health awareness, coping mechanisms, and emotional well-being, utilizing the TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) attachment approach. These sessions integrate therapeutic techniques, mindfulness practices, and group activities designed to promote resilience and emotional healing. They also aim to nurture trust and build stronger connections within families, recognizing that many struggles begin in the home. By fostering understanding and open communication, OHODI helps families strengthen their relationships. Through these efforts, OHODI creates a supportive environment where families can heal, grow, and develop healthier emotional foundations, empowering them to overcome challenges together.
